She is the Shinto goddess of water named Me Gami which is half female
and half sea serpent. She stands in the water with her left hand open
symbolizing peace and her right hand held clenched behind her head
symbolizing her karate if she should have to use it. The female half
represents the soft side of Isshin-Ryu. The serpent half represents the
hard side of Isshin-Ryu.
