The three stars have multiple symbolisms. One of which the stars represent Master Tatsuo Shimabuku's three teachers who light up the darkness and guide the way to enlightenment. The other is that the three stars represent the birth of  Isshin-Ryu; from Shorin-Ryu and Goju-Ryu comes Isshin-Ryu. Many have found their own symbolism; Mind/Body/Spirit, Speed/Strength/Technique, Serenity/Tranquility/Humility.
